The italki World Cup Language Challenge

With the World Cup around the corner, italki last week opened registration for a new World Cup themed Language Challenge! I was very happy to be asked to guest blog my way throughout the Challenge both here and on the italki blog (and my YouTube channel, of course!). So you may notice a slight theme running through the videos over June and July, starting wit this one…

Czech It Out: My First Mini-Mission!

As I’ve no doubt told you a gazillion times over the past few weeks, my final German exams are imminent – as in, this week imminent. I’ve been very lucky in that my wonderful partner in crime, and the one behind the camera, Ashley, has booked me a surprise trip to Vienna and Prague to celebrate next week! Yay!

When I found out we were going, I resisted the temptation to go straight to my battered old Eastern European Phrasebook and decided to embark on a new concept – mini-missions!

The idea is simple: short of time, short of money and short of practise, I’ll aim for smaller and more specific goals in a much shorter space of time. This time? How much Czech can I learn on a 2 and a half hour flight with just a phrasebook? You can expect updates on this at the end of May and in the first week of June.

Mundo Trundle

Heading to the Czech Republic and Vienna seems the perfect time to do something we’ve wanted to for a long time – set up Mundo Trundle, a sister site to Lindsay Does Languages based on all things travel. Mundo Trundle is a travel blog dedicated to budget travel for all…with a little bit of language and film thrown in – what can I say? It’s just who we are!

Mundo Trundle will be officially launching very soon! Of course, I’ll let you know when it does. Oh, and in the meantime, don’t forget to say hello to Ashley over on Twitter. I’m sure he’ll be very happy to meet you!

Learn With Me

learn with me language blog

You may have noticed a shiny new page link at the top of the blog. That’s the Learn With Me page! As I’m sure I’ve said before, I’m very busy with a wide variety of students at the moment preparing for a host of exams, however, I’m opening up my waiting list for Skype lessons in September.

This means that if you’ve always wondered about what Skype language lessons are like, you now have the chance to find out. If you’re curious, everyone is entitled to a low-cost 30 minute Skype consultation to find out just how it all works and for me to find out your level in the language you want to learn. Click here to read more and get in touch!

Guest Posts

This Friday, you can expect the very first guest post here on Lindsay Does Languages! How exciting! I won’t give away too much just yet but I will say that this person is very passionate about languages and writes a great blog him/herself (him/her?! See, I’m not giving away a THING!). You can also expect a guest post (and video!) from me over on their blog so be sure to check that out. If you’re interested in exchanging guest posts yourself, then please drop me an email at lindsaydoeslanguages(at)gmail(dot)com.

Well, I think that’s about it! And…breathe. Hope that’s not been too much to take in. I can’t wait for you to join me on all of these new ventures!
