What happened in May?

The Online Teaching Starter Kit closed – Early in May enrollment closed this time round for the OTSK and it’s been great getting to know the new members so far! To be notified when the program opens up again, click here.

Who Are We at Tate Exchange – I had a lot of fun with Richard Simcott joining The Open University and Counterpoint Arts at the Tate Exchange earlier this month for a couple of workshops to inspire language learning and teaching in the UK.

Not A Year Off is out! – After many hours of writing, editing, proof reading, designing, and figuring out how to use Amazon, Not A Year Off – The Story Behind Language Stories is now out.

I’m super proud of the book and it tracks the year we spent making seasons one and two of Language Stories. Now it feels much more like that chapter is completely over (pardon the pun) and we can begin to think more seriously about season three.

If you’d like to get a copy to support Language Stories, you can do so here.

Language Learning Review for May

For the first time in a long time, I focused on one language in May: Korean. This was because I’m going to Korea at the end of August and want to be able to give myself the best chance of using and understanding Korean while there.

For the most part, I stuck to my plans so I’m pretty satisfied with how things went in May!

Language Learning Goals for June

Add1Challenge – I’ll be doing the Add1Challenge starting in June for the first time since I did it for Japanese back in 2015! This time round is full, but be sure to bookmark the link if you’d like to join in the future (that’s my affiliate link by the way!)

Of course, I’ll be doing Korean. And it’s quite fitting as I’ll be meeting Shannon, who hosts the Add1 Challenge, in Korea right at the end of the Challenge!

Expect my Day 0 video to be uploaded within the next few days, but for now, here’s my update video for May.

Join the #IGLC this June!

The Instagram Language Challenge took a little break over the past couple of months as I focused on other projects but it’s back for June! Over the summer, there’ll be a focus on learning useful expressions and phrases for travel.

To join in is simple – use the daily prompts to inspire a little language learning and share on Instagram with #IGLC in the caption. Still not sure? Click here to learn more about how to take part.
