It’s become a bit of an annual tradition for me to visit Language Show Live. I first went back in 2010 when I was working in the language department of a secondary school and now I go every year and love watching the event grow.

Were you at this year's Language Show Live? We had a blast! Join me as I share some of our favourites from the day in my vlog from Language Show Live 2015.

This year I visited the show with Kerstin Cable of Fluent Language and today I want to share my vlog of the day and a few photos of exciting things I picked up and the people I met!

The first person we bumped into was Gareth Popkins. Gareth is a really inspiring language lover who I’ve met a few times now at various language events such as the Polyglot Gathering and Polyglot Conference. His love for language learning is infectious!

Minutes after saying goodbye to Gareth, I was in for another surprise. This is Dongdong, who spent Christmas at my house back in 2013 via Host, a company that arranges stays with local families for foreign students. I was not expecting to see her at the show! Such a nice surprise!

Later on in the day, I caught up with Linas, the creator of Interlinear Books. I wrote a review of the German book way back when I first started blogging so I’ve been in contact with Linas for a while now and it was so good to finally meet him in person. I need to update my review and I’ll share it soon!

Aaaand…before I leave you with the vlog of the day, here’s a little photo of the freebies I picked up and am inspired by.

So…now I really want to learn Malay, and Welsh, and Korean, and every other language ever. Also, Babel and Lingo – language magazines! So much excitement. As happens every year, I came back feeling really inspired and ready to learn so much more about so many more languages.

I’d recommend the visit to anyone if you’re within reach of London. It’s also nice to see the event growing with a show in March in Glasgow next year. Hope to see you there!
