All this stuttering and muttering is costing you:
You’re missing out on great opportunities to connect deeper with native speakers.
You end up wasting time trying to cram more words thinking that’s the answer.
You waste a ton of money on lessons expecting the language to somehow sink in.
You end up frustrated because you can’t express yourself how you want to.
Have you told yourself that you’ll be ready to speak soon, but you’re just waiting until…
Speaking doesn’t have to be uncomfortable and weird forever.
It doesn’t have to be that elephant in the room that you overlook because you got full marks on the written test.
That 60 day streak on Duolingo means you must be good at the language…right?
“Speaking will come later. It’ll happen naturally.” we tell ourselves, only further hindering our ability to do it.
It won’t happen naturally.
Not if we don’t practise.
Nor if we don’t actively take some time to learn key skills to cope when it gets uncomfortable.
Being a confident speaker in a language isn’t about the number of words, tenses, or certificates you have.
It’s about knowing how to speak anyway, without worrying about that stuff.
That’s what you’ll be able to do by the end of the Speaking Confidence Challenge.
Speaking confidence in any language in just 6 weeks.
Speak any language confidently today, without waiting until you reach A2, or B1, or some other level defined by someone else.
Find confident ways to work around what you don’t know how to say every time. No more ‘umms’ and ‘errs’. Instead, you’ll be able to keep speaking.
Give your languages a speedy boost, without stressing out about underachieving or not being “enough”. You’ll learn why you have all you need.
What you’ll learn during the Speaking Confidence Challenge will transfer across your languages & support you for years to come.
Seriously. What you’re about to learn will revolutionise the way you’ve thought about speaking foreign languages before now.
Over the next 6 weeks, you’ll develop essential skills to calmly navigate the stumbling blocks we typically get hung up on when speaking.
Each lesson focuses on building a particular skill that will combine with the others for a well-rounded confidence when speaking foreign languages.
We’ll meet on Zoom and I’ll start the session with training on this topic (with slides – you’ll get copies of these too).
Once my bit’s done, it’s over to you. There’ll be time for questions in each of these training sessions.
I’m expecting the calls to be around 1 hour in total. If there’s more questions, I’ll hang around as long as I can to answer them!
It’s all well and good watching something and nodding along, but it’s much better if you’ve got some direction to actually put things into action. That’s what the Weekly Personal Challenges are all about.
Each week, I’ll set you a challenge based on the skill from that week’s Live Training Session.
Later in the week, it’s a chance to check in and celebrate a little with some speaking practice!
We’ll meet on Zoom and I’ll open different rooms for different languages so you have a weekly chance to practise putting the skills you’ve learnt into practice with others taking the challenge.
No-one else there speak your language? No problem! I’ll be in the main room and ready to listen. So even if I can’t help you out with a back and forth conversation, you’ll still have a chance to speak aloud (and that’s kinda less scary too because I guarantee everything you say will sound correct to me in the languages I don’t speak! Haha!)
The Speaking Rooms are totally optional by the way. So if you don’t feel ready to join until the last day, or even not at all, no worries.
I know timezones are the bane of the online language learner’s life sometimes! So if you can’t join the live sessions because of timezones, or work, or other commitments, no problem.
You’re still more than welcome to join us for the Speaking Confidence Challenge and use the recordings of each session to catch up.
Each training focuses on a different skill to develop that will help you speak any language confidently.
Take on the weekly personal challenges to give you real life practice right away on what you’ve just learnt.
Join the Speaking Rooms for your chance to practice speaking the languages you’re learning in a safe & supportive environment.
For the first time ever, you can join as a VIP.
As well as everything Regular Challengers get, VIP Challengers are also entitled to unlimited 1:1 Support every Friday throughout the Challenge via Voxer.
Voxer is an asynchronous app (with web version) where we can exchange voice notes & text messages.
You can send me messages anytime & I’ll be replying between 9am and 4pm UK time every Friday throughout the challenge.
Get the exclusive additional support you deserve for the best results from the challenge.
If you’re ready for the Speaking Confidence Challenge, this is the option for you to get Regular Access to the entire challenge.
Prefer to have a bit more support? As a VIP, you also get access to 1:1 support with me every Friday during the Challenge via Voxer.
You certainly don’t have to. There’s no attendance certificates handed out at the end! But if you want to really get the most from the Speaking Confidence Challenge, and give yourself the best chance to improve, then I recommend you at least catch up with the recordings of each of the Live Training Sessions.
I know that timezones don’t always work for everyone, you might have other commitments, you might be working, so I appreciate that it might not be possible for everyone to join every call.
Know that you’re still very much welcome to join and take part, even if you can’t attend every call live!
Yes! We’ll be together live for the next 6 weeks, but once we’re done you get to keep everything to come back to at a later date.
You’ll have lifetime access to all the recordings from the Speaking Confidence Challenge.
The Training Sessions will be recorded, but Speaking Room calls will not be recorded.
(Quick note: Lifetime means as long as Lindsay Does Languages exists. And the Speaking Rooms won’t be recorded.)
Absolutely! What we’ll be focusing on are skills relevant to all language learners, regardless of language.
And these skills? They’re transferable too! So if you’re learning French, Japanese AND Guarani, then you’ll be able to use what you learn across all of those languages!
The Speaking Rooms are open to learners of all languages, but I can’t guarantee there’ll be someone else there for every language. Don’t worry though! If you show up and you’re the only one who wants to practise your language, I’ll stay in the main room with you and you can still speak to me!
Yes, yes, yes! This is for all learners, regardless of the level you’re at with the language you’re learning.
Sometimes we get to a pretty high level in a language whilst still ignoring one (or more) key skills and elements of well-rounded language knowledge.
And if you’re a beginner? Even better. Unlearn those potential new bad habits and put these skills into practice before you advance in the language, rooting speaking insecurities for the long haul.
Nope. Enrollment for the Speaking Confidence Challenge is only open this week – until Sunday 4th June at midnight US Pacific time.
That’s to make sure we all start from the same place and you’re not joining halfway through struggling to catch up.
Speak any language confidently, regardless of how many words you don’t know or how nervous you feel.
There’s no reason you can’t start to speak any language confidently today. You deserve to speak freely & confidently to express the truest version of yourself in the languages you’re learning.
If you’re ready for the Speaking Confidence Challenge, this is the option for you to get Regular Access to the entire challenge.
Prefer to have a bit more support? As a VIP, you also get access to 1:1 support with me every Friday during the Challenge via Voxer.
